FAQs- Winter at Stoney Creek
When do you close for the season?
Our full season at Stoney Creek is April 1st to November 1st. Camping is open anytime between those dates. The water is usually turned on for the year April 15th and turned off for the season October 15th- weather permitting. Before and after the water is turned on/off, our RV sites are open for dry camping. (read more about dry camping below). In the fall, dry camping is available until November 1st or until the snow flies. If you are interested in camping after November 1st and we have not received substantial amounts of snow yet, please call our office to see if we are open. We do not plow in the winter, therefore cannot accept reservations once it starts to snow.
Do you offer dry camping?
Yes, both in the early season (between April 1-15) and in the late season (October 15-31), we offer dry camping at our RV sites. Dry camping means that the water is off but the sites still have electric. Our office also has a hose for filling your water tank available to our campers. Our bathrooms at the office are open from April 1 to November 1 and have both bathrooms and showers. Camping reservations can be made online or by calling our office.
Can the cabins be booked after the water turns off?
Our cabins are only available when the water is turned on. However, our cottages do not have running water inside and therefore can be booked during dry camping season. Their availability is limited and can only be booked by calling our office- not available online. The closest bathroom/shower to the cottages is inside Moose Lodge.
Do you offer winter camping?
We do not offer RV camping after we've received our first substantial snowfall. We do not plow in the winter so we cannot offer winter camping for RV sites. We do not have winter camping available for cabins either; they are unavailable once the water turns off for the year.
What amenities do you offer in the off season?
Technically, our "off season" starts the Tuesday after Labor Day. Our pool closes for the year the next Monday after Labor Day. Our mini golf and jumping pillow are open on weekends through our last themed weekend for the season (usually the weekend before October 15th). From Labor Day to that last themed weekend, we still have activities on the weekend which can include scavenger hunts, crafts, BINGO, activities with Morey the Moose, laser tag and more. Our activity schedules are available on Facebook- go to the "event" tab, click the weekend you are interested in, and then "discussion" to see the activity schedule. If you do not see it, then it might not be available yet. You can always message us on Facebook for information. After our last themed weekend and dry camping starts, our basic amenities are still open to our campers- playground, basketball, skatepark, gagaball, volleyball. Our mini golf is usually open when the office is open until it snows.
